10 Things I've learned

1.  God loves you
John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2.  Although you are smart, there will always be someone smarter.
Stop comparing yourself to other people.  It will only lead to insecurities wherever you go.  Strive to be the best YOU, not a copy of the person next to you.  Know your strengths.  Don't belittle your weaknesses.

3.  Education is important
Get a degree, and figure out what you want to do with your life.

4.  Be honest
Honesty is always the best policy.

5.  Hold tight to your friends
Appreciate them for all that they are.  Make time for them even admits busy schedules.

6.  Spend time with your family
Your family is important, invest in these relationships.  Love your parents, make them proud.

7.  Volunteer
It always feels so good to know that you have given your time to help others.  Also donating blood is one of the easiest things to give.  For every unit of blood you donate, you save three lives.

8.  Live life in the moment
Enough to learn from the past and to have a plan for the future.  Just don't let the now moments pass you bye.

9.  Don't worry
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

10.  Be confident, get out of your comfort zone and try new things.
You might be thinking, those are three different things, but for me they all go together.  Trying new things, causes me to get out of my comfort zone.  And confidence makes everything easier.  If you don't feel very confident, imagine the most confident person you know and try and act how they would.

Lack of Liberty

What has our government come to.

Edward Snowden a former employee of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) leaked details of several top-secret U.S. mass surveillance programs to the press.  Snowden leaked the information, primarily to Glenn Greenwald of London's The Guardian, in spring 2013 while employed as an "infrastructure analyst" at the NSA (National Security Agency).  Snowden said the leaks were an effort "to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them."  Snowden's leaks are said to rank among the most significant breaches in the history of the NSA.
On June 14, 2013, U.S. federal prosecutors charged Snowden with espionage and theft of government property.

Therefore the government is charging Edward Snowden for spying, because he caught the government spying on Americans.  Seems like backwards logic to me.

Here is one of my favorite comics, Foxtrot, making a funny about the situation.

Who Am I - Casting Crowns

This is a great song, with a wonderful message.

Everyday, I know I don't deserve the grace and mercy that God has shown and continually shows from anything that I do.  It is because we have a loving, wonderful, and powerful Father who saved us with his only begotten Son, and who loves us unconditionally.

Physics

This quote by Albert Einstein is awesome and this comic by ZenPencils is equally awesome.
It definitely means something to me.

Dear OSU,

Please don't tell anybody I suck at Physics.

Sincerely,

Ashley

My Recent Thoughts

Live your Dream and Find your Passion.  I still haven't figured out what my passion specifically is.  I know I want to be a computer engineer, but what do I want to do within that?  I don't know yet.  I'm hoping this summer I can research different aspects and reflect on my education to figure it out.

Be Happy.  Don't let the little things bring you down.  There are going to be lots of things in life that are disappointing, but don't let them make you feel negative.  There are so many other things in life that bring joy, big and small, that will outweigh the bad.

Help Others.    Hebrews 13:16  And do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased.  I need to remember that I should focus more on what I can do for others, not what others can do for me.  What can I do today that will make a difference in somebodies life?  It may be something huge, or something insignificant.  Whatever it is, I am going to try to do it.
